Delegate Body Meeting Updates

The Delegate Body met on September 27th, 2026 for it's monthly meeting on the last Sunday of every month.

  • The Delegate Body confronted its first Code of Conduct dispute and the matter was sent to mediation.

  • The Delegate Body directed the Admin Committee to create a process for selecting the Delegate Body Chair and Conveners for inclusion in the Delegate Body Rulebook.

Standing Committee Meeting Schedule

  • Admin meets every two weeks on Tuesdays at 5:30 PM EDT (9:30 PM UTC).

    • The next meeting that is on 10/27.

    • The next meeting after that is on 10/10.

  • Communications meets every two weeks on Mondays at 5:30 PM EDT (9:30 PM UTC).

    • The next meeting that is on 10/26.

    • The next meeting after that is on 10/9.

  • All meetings will be announced in the IJLB Announcements Signal Chat in advance!

  • You can also find these meetings among other events on the IJLB website's calendar.

Convener Applications

  • All the International Standing Committee convener positions are open for application.

  • Conveners are responsible for:

    • Ensuring there are regular committee meetings;

    • Ensuring there are meeting notes accessible via our shared Proton Drive;

    • Sending Committee updates to the Delegate Body;

    • Alerting the Khavershaft Committee when issues arise under the Code of Conduct; and

    • Advertising the Committee's meeting times through the Announcements Signal chat and the website's calendar.

  • Conveners can recruit other committee members to help them fulfill these responsibilities.

  • Every Standing Committee must have a minimum of two conveners and can have up to three conveners, so nobody is working alone and you can apply to work with your friends.

    • As of October 19th, 2026, there are applicants for the Administration and Communications committees.

  • If you are interested in being a convener potential convener positions, then please send an email stating your interest along with a brief statement of why you want the position to admin@jewishbund.org.

Delegate Body Chair and Convener Nominations

  • Delegates will begin nominating candidates on October 20th, 2026 now that the Delegate Body has adopted the proposed selection rules that Admin drafted under its Internal Governance Working Group at the Delegate Body's behest.

  • If you are interested in serving as the Chair of the Delegate Body or as one of the Conveners of the Delegate Body, then please reach out to the Delegate Body representatives you would like to nominate you for the position.

  • The Delegate Body will elect people to serve as Chair and Conveners of the Delegate Body at the next Delegate Body meeting on October 25th, 2026.

Local Updates

  • Congratulations to Binghamton which became an OC and then the tenth chapter of the IJLB and to Uppsala which became an OC!

  • Since May of this year, IJLB membership grew by 44.5% and over 80% of IJLB members now belong to local chapters or OCs.
