Dear Bundists,

First and foremost, the Second PSC Election nominations are closing on January 12th at midnight UTC-12. If you’re interested in running, make sure you’ve declared your candidacy here, otherwise submit your nominations here and fill out our intake form with the Provisional Membership agreement (agreement-only form here) so your nominations count.

This next week is going to be a little different. Thanks to so many of you, the IJLB is at a point where we feel it’s time to start focusing our efforts on building our standing committees up to take on the responsibilities the Provisional Steering Committee has been fulfilling. Instead of our weekly meeting, we plan to meet with members of each committee to discuss how we can work together to achieve that goal.

If you’ve signed up as a Committee Convener and haven’t heard from us yet, we’ll be reaching out to you soon. If you’d like to join a committee and/or volunteer as a Convener, you can fill out the Committee Interest Form here.

We’ve also been experimenting with Working Groups such as the History Working Group, the Performing Arts Working Group, and the Web Development Working Group. Right now, we’re thinking that Working Groups can be offshoots of (and accountable to) existing committees based on what the committees exist to do. If you have thoughts on structure, ideas for a Working Group, or would like to join one of the groups we just mentioned, please reach out to psc@jewishbund.org!

MEETING UPDATES

Local Development is meeting this Sunday, January 12 at 1 PM Pacific (4 PM ET and 8 PM CET) on Zoom to discuss the 3-10-3 structure described in Resolution #9 and start thinking about the role we’d like Chapter delegates to play in the wider organization.

We’re also holding an IJLB General Membership Meeting on January 26 at 1 PM Pacific (4 PM ET and 8 PM CET.) Please come and spread the word! We hope this meeting will be especially helpful to anyone feeling out of the loop right now.

This week we’re at 64 total Provisional Members, with 27 awaiting approval. We apologize that processing memberships is moving so slowly. As long as you’ve applied before nominations close, your submissions before the election will close. In the meantime, if you’d like to help us speed things along, please sign up for the Membership & Onboarding Committee!

There are no announcements this week, but if you have a project you’d like to promote, a local win you’d like to celebrate, or a request or offer for mutual aid, please submit your announcement to the Provisional Steering Committee via our email and we’ll include it in the next Bulletin!
