PSC Meeting Summary
New Committee Formation
Upcoming Meetings
Dear Bundists,
Happy Pi(e) Day and a freylikhn Purim! We hope this bulletin is extra sweet, but we have more than 3.14159 items to cover this week.
There will be a General IJLB meeting on March 15 at 8 PM UTC (You can see what time that would be for you here). Link to the Zoom here. As mentioned in last week’s bulletin, PSC members [redacted] recently attended the Jewish Diasporist Movement Retreat and will be sharing their report and thoughts on the experience at the meeting, so be sure to attend.
At the March 8 PSC meeting, the PSC drafted updates to the Committee Interest Form.
The Committees are in the process of finalizing the updates, and we’ll send out the new and improved form once it’s done. If you’re interested in joining any of the committees, be sure to fill it out!
In addition, we are now piloting email addresses for local and transnational committees. These would have the domain “@jewishbund.org” (e.g. communications@jewishbund.org) and would be standard for current and future committees, as well as potentially for local chapters.
Committee Updates:
New committee alert! We plan to start a labor and worker solidarity focused committee. If this interests you, keep an eye out for the updated interest form, coming soon.
If you are interested in any of the already existing committees and have not already
joined, please fill out this form.

MUTUAL AID REQUESTS
Our khaver [redacted] is passing on a mutual aid request, see below:
Urgent Appeal for Solidarity for a Safe Exile
Dear friends, benefactors and human rights defenders, I am currently in a
situation of great distress with my family in Bujumbura. The security threat is
growing every day, with the rebellion getting dangerously close and the UN
discreetly evacuating its staff. Unfortunately, I do not have access to assistance
to leave the country safely.
Of the $1,200 needed for our exile to Tanzania, only $20 has been
collected so far. Every minute that passes increases the risks, and we urgently
need your support to get us to safety. I appeal to your solidarity and generosity.
Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference and will bring us closer to
a safe exit.
If you cannot contribute financially, sharing this appeal around you can
also help us mobilize the necessary resources. Thank you in advance for your
precious help and support in these difficult times.
For any contribution or contact, please contact me as soon as possible. May
solidarity triumph! Click here to donate
And from [redacted] on the PSC:
Those who know me have probably heard me talk about my friend Afnan Rayyan in Gaza. Her family returned to the north during the first phase of the ceasefire, but with aid cut off once again food prices are shooting up fast. Last I heard from Afnan, the price of potatoes had gone up to $10 USD per kilo.
To make matters worse, the Rayyan family’s internet connection has been spotty, making it difficult to communicate with the outside world. The Rayyans have spent most of the money from their GoFundMe on the basics of survival and on moving their things back to the north to reunite with family. That GoFundMe is their sole source of income, and for them to face starvation after surviving so much is all the more heartbreaking because these are people I love.
You can donate to the Rayyan family’s GoFundMe here. Afnan has become one of my best friends in the short time I’ve known her, and it would mean the world to me if she could survive long enough for us to meet in person one day. Thank you all, and khavershaft.
If you have a project you’d like to promote, a local win you’d like to celebrate, or a request or offer for mutual aid, please submit your announcement to the Provisional Steering Committee via our email and we’ll include it in the next Bulletin!
As always, you can find summaries of all our meetings here, and you can reach us for questions, feedback, or just to say hi at psc@jewishbund.org. Thank you!
