Dear Bundists,

First and foremost, the election for additional Provisional Steering Committee members begins February 10 at 12:00 am UTC-12 and will continue for one week (until February 17 at 11:59 pm UTC-12). All 148 current Provisional Members will be able to vote for up to three new Provisional Steering Committee Members to join the current PSC. Additional information on engagement and candidate profiles can be found here, and you can catch up with the ongoing candidate Q&A here. Although there are three candidates for three seats, each candidate will still need “yes” votes from more than 50% of cast ballots to be seated. If you want to vote but haven’t become a Provisional Member yet, please fill out the intake form (or Provisional Membership Agreement if you’ve already filled out the intake form) as soon as possible.

For all committee members, the PSC has created a master “To-Do Checklist to help organize and keep track of action items and tasks for all our trans-national committees . We hope that this and the chat directory we shared last week will help make committees’ work accessible and efficient.

The Ideology & Education Committee met on February 5th and continued working on the “Summary of Bund Ideology” document, which remains a living document and is still open for comments. Id&Ed has a lot of vital work for the Bund on its plate, so if you are interested in joining and helping out, please fill out the Committee Interest Form and join the Signal!

The History Working Group is looking to schedule a meeting between February 14 and February 22. Please note your availability using the When2Meet. We’ve begun work on a “Bundism 101” document and are in the early planning stages for an oral history project interviewing those of our khaveyrim who have been involved in older iterations of the Jewish Labor Bund. If you’d like to take part in this, reach out to the Working Group on Signal!

Thank you to those who attended the Local Development Committee meeting on February 8! It’s always a genuine pleasure to hear what our khaveyrim are up to on the ground. We had a productive discussion regarding the relationship between student chapters and local chapters as well as the future of the Local Development Committee. If you missed the meeting, you can find the minutes here!

To that end, the PSC could use some help keeping in touch with locals outside of IJLB meetings. We’d like to put together a team of point people to communicate directly with locals in order to keep track of what support they need and help keep them updated on what’s happening at the International. While official organizing committees and chapters can use additional points of contact, there are also a number of still unofficially locals in various cities that we’d love help connecting with. If that sounds like something you’d like to do, please email psc@jewishbund.org and let us know!

If you have a project you’d like to promote, a local win you’d like to celebrate, or a request or offer for mutual aid, please submit your announcement to the Provisional Steering Committee via our email and we’ll include it in the next Bulletin!

As always, you can find summaries of all our meetings here, and you can reach us for questions, feedback, or just to say hi at psc@jewishbund.org. Thank you!
